Stamp Something Challenge

Over at "Stamp Something" the challenge this week is "Black Friday", you'll have to read all about it to understand it? Anyway I have just bought these beautiful stamps by "Inkadinkado" so thought that they fit the bill beautifully. Unfortunately I am having problems with my camera so you can't see the glitter effect on the snowflake trail left by the two characters. The small card is 5x5 inches, and I have used silver mirri board behind a square of "Swiss dots" on the "Cuttlebug", then another 3.5 x3.5 square of mirri with the reindeer matted on top. Then a swirl painted white and sprinkled with silver glitter a piece of white ribbon from the stash.
The larger card is done in almost the same way but using the "Snowflake" embossing folder on the cuttlebug, and the white ribbon has a bow tied in it.

Do you know???

I have just been taking a quick look at the challenge blogs out there, one I do like to visit is the "Cuttlebug Challenge" you can get loads of ideas from there! As you are no doubt aware I love my cuttlebug, it must be the best investment in crafting goodies I have made so far! So why not take a quick look over at their site http://cuttlebugchallenge.blogspot.com/. or click on the link on my "blogs that challenge" list.
Go on you know you want to!!!

It's Christmas!!!

Hi Everyone,
Phew what a day!!!!! I have spent all afternoon baking my Christmas cakes, and making ginger bread cookies, (there where quite a few but my son and I have eaten almost all of them, then I wonder why I can't loose weight!!!) Anyway just managed to have a little play at card making whilst the cakes are in the oven. I love these Penny Black stamps, they are sooo easy to colour, and the frames are embossed on the cuttlebug, really easy and quick!!! Love them!!!

Monday, 27 October 2008

Just been on Carolspaperplayce and she has a challenge this week that looks fab, so I thought I'd have a go!! Here it is! I used paper from the new Joanna Sheen "Baby Love" CD-Rom, black card embossed with Swiss Dots in the "Cuttlebug". A snowflake cut and embossed on the "Cuttlebug then glittered using "Glamour dust", and a small red satin bow, ribbon is from the stash! The mount for the snowflake is cut using "Nestabilities" large scallope squares. I really enjoyed this challenge, why don't you have a look at her blog?? Sorry about the state of the photo (the card doesn't look very square does it, it is actually a 5inch square card!!!)

Thursday, 23 October 2008

Well, I was looking through the challenge blogs and noticed on the Cuttlebug challenge site the suggestion was to make something other than a card, that got me thinking! My daughters boyfriends nephews (hope you can work that one out!!) are only 14 months old. Boy twins called Otis and Frankie (cute eh!!) as they won't understand Christmas cards I decided to make them door hangers using my "Cuttlebug". What do you think? A bit of glitter, and printing on the computer and here we are. The only trouble is I'm not sure if I still in time to enter them on the site, but I'll have a quick look when I've finished playing on here.
Thanks for looking. Just have to make big brother George one now!!!

Penny Black Challenge

Today I have been on a catch-up with all of the challenge blogs and came across this one at "Penny Black Saturday Challenge". As I'm trying to make Christmas Cards at the moment, and I have a few Penny Black Christmas stamps I thought I'd have a go, at making this weeks challenge, an ATC. Never having made one before I am quite pleased with the results.
I used red card 3.5 x 2.5. then cut a piece of white card slightly smaller, coloured this to look like holly and berries, then stamped and decoupaged the cute hedgehog. I stuck some small red beads on for berries and stamped "Christmas"using just the word from a "penny Black" "We wish you a merry Christmas" stamp.Ribbon is from the stash. (must get some more of this as am running out, but can't remember where I got it from, do you get like that or is it just me??? must be my age!!!!)Anyway wish me luck. Also if anyone knows how to link my attempt onto another blog please tell me, most entries now say " and you can view my card here" and when you click on the here it takes you straight to their entry??? How do they do that????

My time to craft challenge

Hi all!!
Well today is Sunday and I'm on strike. I'm doing no housework today, (although I did do the ironing this morning and I'm about to make the tea!!!) So I have had a craft day, and I have made this 3D card for my sister-in-law. It is shaped like a box and stands alone. I made it from all kinds of pieces. Stamped and coloured the "Daisy Squares" stamp by Inca Stamps then cut out each one individually, The swirls are stamps from "Penny Black". The glasses are miniture shakers made with "Quikutz" die on the "cuttlebug"one layer is acatate and one layer is silver metal, then put fine glitter in between!! The pink polkadots is from "Funky Hand" "PaperBlossom". The sentiment is just off cuts. Ribbon from the stash. Background is embossed with "Swiss Dots on the "Cuttlebug" There is quite a bit of doodling going on as well, each edge has some around, be it straightish lines, faux stitching or dots, unfortunately as I've said before I don't take very good pics!!!
I really enjoyed myself, and I'm quite pleased with the outcome. Hope she likes it. Now to sort out my tea!!!! Bu before I do I've just noticed that over at "My time to Craft the challenge is doodling!! So I've had a quick enter!!!

Jack's card

Hi everyone, Today I have had a great time visiting a craft shop with a friend and getting lots of ideas. So tonight I have made our friend Jack a birthday card. The picture does not show all the detail I'm afraid, but it is in layers the outer layer is from "Funky hand" "it's Funky Too" this has an aperture cut into it to show the middle layer which is also printed using "It's Funky Too". Then the last layer has a triple embossed tile in three shades of gold and white then stamped with a "see-D" Happy Birthday. Around all the edges I have doodled a line (but you can hardly see this??) I don't think Davis Bailey has anything to worry about!! Hope you like it? Sorry I could not get the pictures to scale as I had to scan the card as pictures just did not show anything??? Speak to you all soon!!

Petes Card

Tomorrow is my husbands birthday, so I have made him a card. I started with a 5inch square white card, put a mount of a "Basic Grey" paper (I can't remember which one it is) , a smaller mount of black card and then the final white mount I embossed with "Swiss Dots" on the "Cuttle Bug" The car is stamped onto red card in black "Stayzon" Hightlighted with a "Sukura" white pen and small glitter stones added for the wing mirrors and the back lights. The car is suspended over the card with acete so that any breeze makes the car wobble (it looks like it is driving over a bumpy road) I think it is cute, why is it so hard to make mens cards??????

My Time to Craft. Christmas Card Challenge

Well! how busy have I been???? but now most of the projects are finished and I can get back to playing?? How cool is that? I went to the Stevenage Stamp Show yesterday, spent too much money, but got loads of fab stuff!!!! So last night I had a play with some of the bits and made a Christmas Card. Then just now I was looking through the Challenge Blogs and noticed that "My Time To Craft" have a Christmas Card Challenge, so thought I'd enter. I made this with the "Snowflake " embossing folder that goes with my "Cuttlebug" (I love it) And at the show I bought some "Nestabilities" So all the round matting and layering is cut with those on the "Cuttlebug"The stamp is one I also got at the fair, it is from the new Christmas clear stamps from "Penny Black" I think this little mouse is so cute!!! All the papers and card are from bits I bought last year, so no idea where they are from (that's one great thing about the "Cuttlebug" it really seems to make the papers go a long way).
I hope you like it, please leave me a comment, as I have really missed hearing from you all!!!!!

Bedford River Festival 2008

Well we have had the "River Festival" here in sunny Bedford. This is a bi-annual event and there are thousands of visitors. I thought you might like to see a few of the pics. As I explained in my last post, teams build a raft and then have to paddle it (quite a way) down the river "Great Ouse" as you can see it is a lot of fun, but very tiring, and lots of cheating goes on!!!The river is usually full of swans and geese, they were in a bit of a hurry to get well out of the way as the rafts appeared!! The weather today has been just right, sun but not too hot. I hope you enjoy a few pics. from the race, as you can see the rafts are not always paddle powered!!!

And usually a good time is had by all.Anyway as I've been away I have not had a chance to make anything, and no real chance of doing so until next week!!! but hey ho. I'll just have to go mad then. Stamp Something Monochromatic Challenge

I think that I have the challenge bug now, two in one day!!!! This one is for the Stamp Something challenge, which is to make a monochromatic card. Something I have been wanting to try for a while but didn't dare. So this is my first attempt at keeping the colouring simple. I am quite pleased with the effect, I "Cuttle Bug"ed the back mount, then punched holes down one side with my crop-o-dile and tied white and black and white check ribbons through. Next I stamped "Daisy Squares" cut one out and mounted this on a white square of card stamped with "Happy Birthday"in black "Staz-on". Highlighhted the daisy with clear glaze and glittered the centre. Let me know what you think????

My Time to Craft Challenge & Cute Card Thursday

Saw these challenges and thought I would have a go. Not sure if I'm too late. but hey!! it's the taking part that counts, and any excuse to use the cuttle bug. I think I'm in love with it!!! Birds is the theme for the "My Time to Craft Challenge" challenge and Three embellishments is the Cute Card Thursday Challenge. This stamp is called "Four Little Birds", I coloured it using Marvey La Plume pens, scalloped the edges, and made the background using "Basic Grey" paper, and half Embossed with the "Cuttle bug"the tag is cut with the "Cuttle Bug"also, I just threaded a small piece of ribbon through and added a couple of paper clips. The small white dots around the picture are done using rub ons, (I hope these count as an embellishment???)Hope you like???

Pat's birthday

Another card I made today was one for my friend who is 70 this year, she is having a party later this month. As she is mad about shoes I thought my shoe stamps would be good, and another excuse to try the "Shabby Saturday" Hope she likes it!!!

Michaels birthday

Well, what a great day I've just had. My friend Sue and myself have had a play day. We both had cards to make so we got together at my house, drank coffee and tea, I made lunch and we made cards and nattered!!!
I have just downloaded "Shabby Saturday" from the Funky Hand site, you know how much I enjoy these papers, so what better excuse than to make my darling brother-in-law a birthday card. He owns a deli in Chorley Lancs. where he sells lots of Cup cakes so thought this would suite him. A little different from fishing, wine or football???

Fathers Day

Went down to the market today to get the veg. and stuff, and while I was there realised that it is Fathers Day soon. So have made an attempt at a card. My father-in-law is great, he is 86 years young, he has just bought himself a new car, and he is off to Lake Garda soon. He has only just arrived back from Malta. I just hope I'm as good as he is at that age. As you can probably guess he plays golf twice a week, so when I saw these Quickutz dies I just had to get them. Men are so hard to buy for don't you think??? Anyway the papers are from Funky Hand "Paper Blossom" the only other thing I used was a big Brad. Hope he likes it????

Wedding card

Hi all,
have been having a play again and come up with a congratulations card. As you all know I love Funky Hand papers and this is using the "Love" theme from "It's Funky Too". The swirls are from a set of "Flourish Corners for Basic Grey" The small flowers are decoupaged and glittered. Now all I have to do is find someone who is getting married or engaged????

Friday Sketchers

Hiya,
I am now back in the country again, and was taking a look at Carol's Paperplayce and saw that she had done a card for the "Friday Sketchers" challenge, as I had a 50th birthday card to make I thought I would try one of the challenges to see what happened. Mine is not nearly good enough to enter but I had great fun making the card so may try to use the designs on these blogs again some other time. Let me know what you think about my attempt, I have used "Basic Grey" "sugared" papers, the 50 is from "It's Funky Too" CD, and the flowers are a mixture of dye cut "Quickutz" and some silk flowers from somewhere (can't remember where), a couple of silver brads, and the sentiment is stamped using "Adirondack" "Lettuce". Well i'm off now speak to you all soon.

4th Anniversary

Although I am trying to make a keepsake book for my sister in law, I just realised that my husbands much younger brother has his 4th wedding anniversary next week, so as I received my "Crop-o-dial" this morning I decided to make something that has holes.
The paper is "Basic Grey "Sugared" I think the colours are really sweet, the heart stamp is one from "Denami design"??? The flowers are the daisys from the top of the baby hammock on the "Penny Black" stamp that I got a few weeks ago. The top plaque is from a chip board set I got from QVC a while ago but couldn't decide what to do with, but now I can make holes in them I'm sure I'll use them a lot more. The ribbon is just some I picked up at "Exel".
I hope you like it, please let me know your views.

Saturday, 19 April 2008

Hi Guys,

Sorry that I have been away for so long but have been having a great time.

When I have finished I'll post a couple of pics so you can see what i am up to.
Thanks for looking in.

60th birthday

This card was made for my lovely sister-in-law who will be 60 years young this month. The paper is "Basic Grey" "Perhaps" (yet again!!!) The bottom strip is a strip of hand made paper that I pinched from my friend Sue. The ribbon is some I picked up at the Exel craft show. The stamp is from "Hobby Art" and is called "In full bloom".I stamped it using Adirondack "Oregano" The happy Birthday was done on the P.C. I hope you like, and I hope my sister-in-law does too!!!

Baby Card Ahh!!!

My friend Sue and I had a great day on Thursday, we had, what we call, a play day. As Sue's daughter-in-law is about to pop any time now I thought that it would be a great time to make a card for the expected arrival. Hence the none committal colours. She does not know if she is having a boy or a girl! Again I bought this stamp at the "Exel" craft show. It is another "Penny Black" and I stamped it twice and decoupaged it, the backing paper is " Basic Grey" "Perhaps". The small "Baby" tag in the top left corner is one from a sheet I bought some time ago and have never used.

Anniversary card

Well it's Easter Monday and I'm having a play. Friday is my neighbours Wedding Anniversary, so thought I would have a go at making a card!! I am quite pleased with the results, although my husband does not think that the "Hugs and Kisses" paper is perhaps the right choice??? Not sure why! Men!
The paper is from "It's Funky Too" I love it. Would like to get more disks from "Funky Hand" and when I have saved up a little I will. As I have just started card making I NEED all kinds of "stuff".

Saturday, 22 March 2008

Hiya,
This is my first and may be my last entry onto this blog. I have not been card making for long but am really enjoying the challenge. I hope you like what you see.
This is a photo of my first blog challenge from Carols Paperplayce. Take a look.
