New Counter
I have just inserted a new counter onto my blog as for some reason the last counter disappeared??? Oh well, I was really enjoying the fact that people were taking time to visit my blog, now I don't know how many stopped to take a look. I just have to start again! So many thanks for taking the time to take a look and please feel free to leave me a comment, I'd love to hear from you.
2sketches4you Challenge/ Laura's sketch 18
I love the sketches over on the 2sketches4you challenge blog, this is my attempt at the latest one??
Used a 5inch square white card (my favorite at the moment) cut a black mount slightly smaller, then a slightly smaller patterned mount from "Basic Grey" "Two Scoops". I embossed the "Friend" using my "Cuttlebug" and an embossing folder, cut out the word and filed it to show the white core. The large "pink" matt is cut on the cuttlebug using a large scallop circle then embossed using "Swiss Dots" I pricked holes around the outside and drew a line with a "sakura" gel pen to try to make it look like stitching??The flowers are real pressed flowers that I have had for years, two pieces of ribbon from stash (Love ribbon) and a small "Forever" stamp on white card and cut out just around the writing.
Basic Grey / Recipe
The challenge at "Basic Grey" is to make a card using a recipe. 2 patterned papers, 1 button, 1 ribbon and bow, 3 brads, so with Valentines Day coming up I made this for my hubby Pete. Not sure about the teddy bear??? I really enjoyed this challenge as it really made me think how to arrange items on the card, need more practice!!!
Made this using a 5inch square white card, the two patterened papers are from "Sultry". I tried to tear the back matt as I sometimes play safe with straight lines but I'm quite pleased with the results. the brads and button are from "Basic Grey" but I can't remember the name as I've decanted them into storage boxes!!! Teddy is a "Forever Friends" which I thought was quite apt as it's for valentines day!!Ribbon again is a small piece from stash!
Penny Black Challenge / Frame It
Had a great day yesterday, I decided not to do any housework and just craft. My friend Sue came round and that's what we did, we crafted for hours (although it only seemed minutes) I made three cards for challenges that I had seen on various blogs and the first one is this "Penny Black" "Frame It".
I used a 5inch square white card, then cut a piece of pink Cordinations card slightly smaller, made it into a frame by cutting a scalloped aperture in the centre, roughened the edges and pricked a line around the edge (trying to make this look like stitching???) The circle cut from the centre (using the cuttlebug and large scallope circle) I cut on the next die smaller. Cut a smaller white circle for the matt and then stamped the roses using "Brush Rose" Penny Black Stamp and Marvay Le Plume pens. Decorated with a small white button and a piece or white ribbon and 6 small stick on gems. Stamped a "Just for you" on the corner after I'd put the outside square on raised pads (phew!!!) and thats it.

Baby Card/ Penny Black Challenge
My friend in Stratford on Avon has a grandaughter who will be one next week, so I have been playing with baby cards. I dug out one of the "Penny Black" stamps and triple stamped it then used these as decoupage. (I love this effect). The papers are from "Basic Grey" "Two Scoops" cut using the "Cuttlebug". the ribbon is some from the stash that I thought went quite well?
I really enjoy this type of card. I have just been over to the Penny Black Challenge Blog and the challenge is "Dotty"!!! Well as the background has dots on I'm going to enter!!! The only problem is that after looking at at all the others I feel my is a little plain, but hay ho! we all start somewhere!!

JDs 14th Birthday card
Hi all,
Well Christmas is finally over (what a great time), although between Christmas and New Year I started with the dreaded cold bug that has been going around, so have not been up to much! Got out of bed to celebrat New Year then went back to bed for 2 days to recover. but overall had a really wonderful time.
Hope you all had a fab time as well??
Well back to reality, and have to make a card for my nephew who will be 14. didn't think I could get away with flowers or cartoons any more so came up with this???
It's a 5inch white Square card, The paper was off cuts from Christmas so not sure which papers they were, the brownish background is defnitely "Basic Grey" put through the "Cuttlebug" with Swiss dots and then sanded. Then I used Black "Stayzon" to colour the Skull and crossbones and the arrow from a set of "Grungeboard" shapes by Tim Holz, then covered them in "Glossy Accents" to give the shine. Stamped "Happy Birthday" using C_D stamps and a little bit of doodling around the stripes. Hope he likes it.
Speak to you all soon
Unfortunately my counter seems to have dissapeared over Christmas so will have to replace with a new one which of course will zero the counter, shame. Oh well!!
